| Description | ENTER THE FIRKIN SUMMER JAM 2011 BAND TOURNEY NOW ! ! ! Genre: Rock / Alternative / Dance / Pop Rock / Modern Country / Traditional Folk / Punk Rock / Adult Contemporary NO METAL or HEAVY METAL BANDS What is it? This is a tourney to search for bands that fit the Firkin Centurion scene. The first round will be judged by our “First-round judges” whom will judge the band by their press pack. Each judge will be given 10 x bands press packs where they each will choose the two bands that they would like to see in the competition. Judges will vary between business people from the music industry as-well as professional musicians. Each band will be judged by two songs. The 20 chosen bands will play the semi-finals at Firkin Centurion and will be split up in 2 groups of 10 bands each to compete on either the 6th or the 13th of December 2011 for one of the 12 places in the final of the Firkin Summer Jam 2011 happening on 16 December 2011 . ( Bands must be able to do 60% covers & 40% originals for the finals) VERY IMPORTANT: All bands that enter this tourney must be available for the following dates if they are chosen to compete in the semi-finals and finals: 6, 13 and 16 December 2011. Prizes • The winning band will receive a music video from Six Chambers. (Concept and all rights reserved to Six Chambers) • The winning band also get to record the track that will be used for their music video with producer Wouter van de Venter from Good Sounds Studios at Lemon Jack Studios in Pretoria. Two days at LemonJack Studios with Wouter and one day for mixing and mastering at Good Sounds Studios by Wouter van de Venter. • The winning band will get the change to open for one of the Firkin Centurion’s headliner acts (dates to be arranged). • The winning band will also get two gigs of their own at Firkin Centurion (dates to be arranged). • The winning band will also receive a selection of vouchers from our different sponsors.
