Attack of the Strawberries is a funky all-girl cover band, who add their unique flavour to current hits from Lady Gaga, right through to the soul sounds of the late
Amy Winehouse.
Biography The band consists of four talented ladies who are formally trained musicians with years of performing experience between them.

Lead singer, Charlie Vallow obtained her degree in Jazz vocals at the Franz Schubert Conservatorium in Vienna, Austria. She met the all-round talent, Marze van Zyl (drummer, cello, violin, guitar) as a vocal teacher at TUT, where Marze is currently completing her studies ...in jazz. Guitarist, Kelly Grevler, received a higher diploma in guitar and performance from the Campus of Performing Arts and is currently completing a BA Honors Degree in Music Business. Kelly is also a formally trained vocalist. Completing the quartet is Leda Smit-Denner on bass and acoustic guitar – Leda is a formally trained pianist.

Attack of the Strawberries is the perfect choice to provide that sizzling vibe to any corporate event, cocktail party, birthday party, wedding or a night in “da-house”!
Recordings of live performances of “Rolling in the deep” (Adele), “Animal Instinct“ (The Cranberries) and “Bad Romance” (Lady Gaga) is available on YouTube, which is easily accessible from their website: www.attackofthestrawerreis.co.za. A DVD and demo CD is available for the public on request.

Band History:

REBURN is a Cape Town based 5 piece Indie Rock band made up of two Scotsmen, two South Africans and one Chilean. In 2006 destiny orchestrated a meeting in a pub between Alex McFarlane and Craig Hermanus (both guitarists and singers)... REBURN was born. A few musicians came through the ranks until current members Jono Templer (bass), Scottie Moore (vox) and more recently Jay Sandoval (drums) joined the band. REBURN has since rapidly plotted their course through the SA music industry.
REBURN recently returned from Port Elizabeth after being chosen to play in the Pro 20 Series Rock Star Cricket Finals. REBURN was one of the few bands chosen to play at this amazing event and the only band chosen to come back and play the semi finals and finals. They were also chosen to headline the prestigious 2010 SA Music Exchange showcase event held at Mercury Live in Cape Town. REBURN is not new to high profile events such as this, having had TV show appearances, being featured as the opening act of a top selling Columbia Records artist and many more.
After independently releasing and launching an EP, an Album, 5 music videos and a full length DVD (with each launch packing some of Cape Town’s best known venues to capacity), REBURN has been labeled as one of the top bands in the Western Cape by the media and music industry in general.
REBURN has shared the stage with bands such as ‘The Ataris’ (who enjoy high rotation on MTV) on tour from the US and some of our top local talents. Their participation in festivals nationwide has taken them to stages like ‘Rocking The Daisies', ‘Up The Coast', ‘The Grahamstown National Arts Festival', ‘Melkbos', ‘Forbidden Fruit' and ‘Synergy'.
REBURN’S music has been featured on the animal rights album ‘Innocent Blood', a Dead Kennedy’s cover album and the Billabong television program ‘Girls Get Out There' on Super Sport. They have also been recorded live for national TV and their DVD is currently on rotation on MK.

EBURN‘S EP and CD is enjoying airplay on national radio stations. They have won the UCT RAG/Marshall Music ‘Launch Your Band' competition, the Ku‐de‐ta Live ‘Battle of the Bands', the Paul Bothner/R.O.A.R ‘Face Off Battle' and most recently the ‘Rock Star Pro 20 Series Cricket nationwide band vote' (3 times in a row). As part of the latter they were filmed live for M‐NET in front of a 17000 strong crowd. Last, but not least, they were featured as one of the top 100 bands worldwide in the renowned international ‘Rock Star Lottery' band competition.

REBURN recently signed a distribution deal with Musketeer Records, the same record company that signed world chart band Seether and made them into a household name. In January 2009 the band signed a management contract with Full Spectrum Alternative.
The latest news is REBURN has just returned from a successful national tour in April and will be playing in and around the Western Cape before another national tour in September. Watch the press and their social networks for details.

Jim Morrison & The Doors Tribute
Sunday 3rd July 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of the death of Rock ‘n Roll icon Jim Morrison founder
of The Doors, America’s most riotous rock bands of all time. Their name, taken from Aldous Huxley’s
book “The Doors of Perception” written about mind expanding drugs. Their incredible, sensational,
whirlwind Rock ‘n Roll rollercoaster-ride lasted a mere four years, from the bands 1967 debut, to the
untimely death of Jim Morrison in July 1971 at age 27. During that short time Jim Morrison & The Doors
recorded 6 albums of staggering potency and played some of the most explosive rock concerts ever
experienced in America. This earned them the reputation as the Outlaws of Rock, demonstrated by
Morrison’s several arrests, ranging from drunk & aggressive behaviour to indecent exposure. As the ‘pop
sex symbol’ once said “our music represents a new wild west, a sensuous, evil world, strange and
haunting”.
Formed by Jim Morrison and keyboard player Ray Manzarek, students at a film school in 1967, guitarist
Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore soon joined. In a recording span of just 4 years Jim Morrison
& ‘The Doors’ boasted 2 No #1 American Chart breaking hits, first “Light my Fire” on their sensational
debut album ‘The Doors’, the second “Hello, I love you’ off the album ‘Waiting For The Sun’. The
music and poetry of Jim Morrison and The Doors explored the darker side of the human psyche as they
sang about sex and death, their songs & lyrics mixed by the acid-tinged imagery of Morrison, the psychedelic
flourishes of Manzarek’s keyboards, combined with the magic of Robby Krieger’s guitar and the
power & rhythm of John Densmore on drums.
Sadly, just weeks after recording ‘LA Woman’ featuring the haunting ‘Riders On The Storm’ Jim was
found dead in his bathtub in his Paris apartment on 3rd July 1971. For Jim Morrison‘ the music was finally
over…
