Hed Kandi already flies world renowned DJ’s to the Fez club in Cape Town every week for what has become a series of legendary parties and has now added Johannesburg to its weekly roster with events at Arena Royal every Friday from 2nd September.

He worked as a resident DJ and Artistic Director for eight years for Club La Marquise in Lyon, which is still one of the best clubs in France and also collaborated with clubs in Barcelona. He has woven his web worldwide and created his own label ‘Plein Gaz Productions’ and produced his own band ‘Colorblind’ – The Jivers.

Infrared, musician, DJ, composer, arranger and producer spent many years behind his instruments and turntables then started to mix with top international DJ’s. He developed an eclectic culture of music and has co-animated for a popular jazz radio show ‘Contre temps’ on radio Brume. Infrared has his own ‘Mezzanine Studio’ that allows him freedom of creation.

He composed many albums, produced movie soundtracks and countless singles Superhuit Music enabling him to reach all musical styles and collaborated with many great musicians. He has just produced a single ‘Mercury’ with Lu Chase a South African singer, songwriter, radio DJ and actress best known for fronting the band Cape Town Iridium Project, with their hit ‘Lu's Control’. The music video is in production and will is be launched soon.

D Maslo & Che Cherry is a duo of artists The main act of their performance is Che Cherry singing on tracks mixed live by D Maslo.

Their music includes original lyrics and music as well as unique covers of soul, funk and disco classics on a fine selection of tracks.

Their set moves the crowd from deep house beats to rocking house rythms followed by D Maslo's mix of house classics, new releases and disco house songs.

The overall product creates a super vibe and groove applicable to bars, clubs or private function.

Born in Paris, France, D Maslo moved to South Africa in 2003. Meanwhile studying for his degrees in Politics and Economics in Pretoria, he met DJ Localizer and began working as a manager in his studio, store & school, called SA DJ Music.

After he learnt the skills of DJ'ing and music production alongside local DJs, producers and musicians, he launched his own music studio and produced some deep house tracks that he released with Sisco Umlambo under the Multi-Racial label, and other local labels.

At the same time, he has been doing graphic design for years and he is producing and directing tv shows on urban lifestyle and house music in South Africa.
Instruments

D Maslo has been playing the guitar and piano for about 10 years. He can subsequently play the bass guitar and drums. He is also learning the saxophone.

DJ'ing

He has learnt how to mix in 2006 and yet he has practiced until 2009 before he could assume the position of a club DJ.

He has always been interested in new technologies and has played on computerized mixing system since 2007. He now performs using Traktor Scratch.

In 2009, he presented alongside DJ and producer Sisco Umlambo, a demonstration of these new ways of DJ'ing at the South African Music Conference.

Style

After playing deep house, D Maslo now mixes house and disco house ready to bring a grooving vibe in bars and clubs.

Born in South Africa, Che Cherry started her singing career at a young age.

Rozzano began his career in the cultural entertainment industry in 1984, as the first ever b-boy, part of the first ever break dance group in the country, then started to DJ, club events promoter but mainly been recognized a Hip Hop DJ and Hip Hop Activist. He mobilized the youth, playing revolutionary hip hop and underground house music to the youth. His involvement and professional attitude has taken him many places around Sou...th Africa.

The Fong Kong Bantu Sound System had its beginnings when a number of Cape Town's oldest underground DJ’s. Over the years the five DJs of the FKBSS have played together at various venues in Cape Town, but have decided to pool their resources and form a sound system which ranges from African hip-hop to Latin soul, playing rare grooves like Hugh Masekela's lost afro-funk b-sides next to crowd-pleasing stompers like Kabelo's latest kwaito anthem or classics by Brenda Fassie and Damian Marley.
